Dewitt Carolinas Officially Breaks Ground for Pier 33 Luxury Apartments

February 7, 2019 – Wilmington, NC – More than 100 people gathered with Dewitt Carolinas today to celebrate the groundbreaking of Pier 33, the luxury apartment and retail complex located on the Cape Fear River in downtown Wilmington.  Elected officials, business leaders and those with a stake in downtown Wilmington’s continued growth celebrated the development of the critical five-acre site situated between PPD headquarters and the Wilmington Convention Center, along the Cape Fear Riverwalk and the Northern Riverfront Marina and near the city’s future Riverfront Park. Dewitt Carolinas anticipates welcoming the first residents of Pier 33 in Spring, 2020, with pre-leasing to begin late this year.

Heavy equipment has been in place for several weeks, grading the property and drilling foundation footings for the six-story complex.  When complete, Pier 33 will bring 286 luxury apartments, 20,000 square feet of commercial space and a 525-space parking garage to the city’s river front.
