Travel + Leisure: This N.C. Town is 8th Best U.S. Holiday Destination

Beaufort, North Carolina is the eighth-best place to visit during the holidays, according to Travel + Leisure.

In “America’s Best Towns for the Holidays,” the magazine cites Beaufort’s Crystal Coast Christmas Flotilla, the parade of lighted boats that takes place annually the first weekend in December, and the weather, which makes it possible to paddle a kayak on Taylor’s Creek late in the year. The top two destinations on the list are for ski lovers: Aspen and Vail in Colorado.
